Natural Face Packs for Dry Skin

By  |

For skin to feel soft and supple it is required that the skin contains all the water and moisture that is needed to maintain the smooth texture. Dermatologists opine that for this purpose the top most layer of the skin should contain a minimum of 10% of water, although it would be optimum to try and maintain this water balance to about 20 to per cent.

Natural Face Packs for Dry Skin

Now doesn’t our skin has some way of protecting this water content? It surely does! Nature has provided our skin with sebaceous glands which can produce an oily substance that is known as sebum. Sebum is nothing but a complex mixture that contains ingredients like fatty acids, waxes, sugar and some other natural chemicals that create a protective layering to minimize evaporation of water and moisture from our skin. However sometimes our skin fails to produce enough sebum required for the purpose. The reasons could be external like environmental conditions or lack of care, or internal like ailments or hormonal disorder. So dry skin requires extra care to help it regain some moisture and also luster.
